Guiver feels confident about Supersport at Silverstone

Rob Guiver leads the Motorpoint British Supersport Cup class with the Ace Cafe T3 Racing team as the penultimate round commences at Silverstone this weekend.

It’s going to be a tough couple of rounds for the rider from Essex. With the points as they stand, once they have dropped their lowest scoring three rounds, Bjorn Estment will be just one point ahead of Guiver.

Guiver is looking forward to Silverstone where he won the Triumph Triple Challenge championship last year a round early. He commented:

“I’m feeling more confident about the championship now. Once we’ve dropped the points Bjorn will be only a point ahead so it’s definitely doable.”

We also caught up with Team Principal, Tony Scott, to see how he was feeling about the championship:

“Anything could happen still and I think the battle will come down to the last race. With the dropping of three rounds we’re having to lose 77 points currently. You never know what will happen though, if we didn’t turn up this weekend or if we get two DNFs we’ll be 32 points better off! We’ll just have to see what we can do, it’s not over until it’s over.”

Guiver is also now 19th in the main championship out of 33 riders. He’s within five points of Danny Buchan and Samuel Hornsey and will be looking to make up some points this weekend.

Guiver and the Ace Cafe T3 Racing team will be qualifying at 11.00 on Saturday for the sprint race at 15.40 and the feature race will be held at the same time on Sunday.
