Ace Cafe T3 Racing Team at Assen this weekend! 20/09/2013

Rob Guiver takes on the TT Circuit Assen for the first time

The Ace Cafe T3 Racing team are facing some big challenges with only three rounds to go in the Motorpoint British Supersport championship. The first this weekend as their rider, Rob Guiver, takes on the TT Circuit Assen for the first time.

Guiver, who is currently leading the Cup class, spoke about his approach to the Dutch track:

“Assen is a track I’ve always wanted to race at. I like new tracks and have never really had a problem learning them so I’m looking forward to the challenge!”

Guiver’s Ace Cafe Racer is ready to go after his crash at Donington Park where he didn’t finish a race for the first time this season. However, his biggest concern now is that he has finished too many races! He explained:

“I’m in a situation now where I’m going to have to lose points from three rounds because the Cup is only scored on nine out of the twelve. Bjorn hasn’t scored in two rounds and Jake hasn’t scored in three whereas I’ve scored in all of them so far so face losing the most points.”

Currently, if Guiver dropped his worst scoring rounds he would sacrifice 77 points and drop to third in the Cup championship.

Team Principal, Tony Scott, spoke about the situation:

“It’s bit of a strange situation we find ourselves in here. We would of course like to win the Championship especially as the grid is improving with the shift towards the EVO class, but it would appear that our consistency is going against us.  We came to do the best we could and give Rob the best chance we could, we have done that and now we are in the hands of fate and Robs ability to get some good starts.”

Guiver will be racing at 15.55 on Saturday and 15.45 on Sunday at the TT Circuit Assen. Sunday’s feature will be shown on Eurosport 2 live and you can keep up to date with what the team are doing by finding T3 Racing on Facebook or following @T3Racing on twitter.
