The Ace Cafe T3 Racing team ready to prove themselves at
Oulton Park

The Ace Cafe T3 Racing team return to Oulton Park this weekend and are ready to prove what they can really achieve at the circuit in the Motorpoint British Supersport Championship.

Last time at Oulton Park the team demonstrated they had some competitive pace. Since then they have only improved and, despite being 23rd in the main championship, the team are now second in the Cup class and scoring points at every round.

So far, the Ace Cafe T3 Racing team, who only formed in February this year, have learnt a little bit more about the Ace Cafe Racer (Triumph Daytona 675R) at each event. As they already have experience at Oulton Park from Round Three of the season, the team are aiming to continue this and move closer to the front of the grid.

After a positive weekend of racing at Brands Hatch the team are heading to Oulton Park on a high. Ace Cafe T3 Racing rider, Rob Guiver, is feeling confident about the round:

“I’m really looking forward to this round, we made some great strides with the bike at Brands Hatch so I think we will have a much better race weekend at Oulton! It’s a track I love and know well, I’m just hoping the sun stays with us!”

At the first Oulton Park event of the year, the team got a great start to the weekend with a best lap time of 1.41.232 minutes and were running 14th fastest in Free Practice, only two seconds off the pace. All seemed well, the circuit is one of Guiver’s favourites and the team had managed to get some good results at testing.

Unfortunately in practice Guiver had a run in with another rider which affected his confidence. The team also had problems when they were told their front fairing wasn’t within the racing guidelines and had to spend precious time swapping it for one with a smaller air intake. In Race 1 he only managed 20th but pulled it together for Race 2 and came 15th.

Now with more than half a seasons experience behind them we spoke to Team Principal, Tony Scott, about what the team can achieve this time:

“It’s a tight grid of only 22 and what Rob is doing isn’t actually being shown. At Brands Hatch he was 0.7 seconds off getting pole, not even a second! Oulton Park is his circuit and he’s settled down on the bike so the plan is to keep moving forward.”

Rob Guiver will be out on track for the Ace Cafe T3 Racing team at Oulton Park on Saturday at 15.25 for seven laps and again on Sunday for a further 15 laps at 15.50. Keep up to date with what is going on by finding us on Facebook (www.facebook.com/T3Racing) or following @T3Racing on twitter.
