FBHVC Drive-It Day - Sunday 22nd April 20/04/2012

The Federation of British Historical Vehicle Clubs have chosen the cafe as one of the pitstops for enthusiasts in North London for their annual “Drive it Day” on Sunday 22nd April. Clubs and local organisations are encouraged to hold gatherings on the day to provide enthusiasts of old vehicles to get out and blow the winter cobwebs away.

FBHVC members will be on hand to explain its work and activities. The original “Drive it Day” concept was to celebrate the Thousand Mile Trial when sixty four cars set off from London on 23rd April 1900 on a three week reliability trial around Britain in order to promote the motorcar as a means of reliable travel to the public.

The Club works closely with a wide range of organisations and Government Departments to retain the freedom to use historic vehicles on the UK’s roads.  The day has been held annually since 2005, and research by the Federation in 2011 showed that the Historical Vehicle Movement is worth over 4.3 billion pounds annually to UK PLC!
